     The Krispy Kreme Challenge...

...began as an annual, student-operated race in Raleigh, North Carolina benefiting the NC Children's Hospital. Beginning in 2004 with a mere 12 participants, the race has grown exponentially to a whopping 5,500 runners in the 2009 race and has rapidly become one of NC State University's newest traditions. Historically the challenge attracts a wide range of runners from beginners to serious competitors hailing from all corners of the country.

The Student United Way is excited to bring the race to Florida State University. In order to fulfill the Krispy Kreme Challenge, participants are required to run two miles to reach the designated Krispy Kreme doughnut disbursement facility. Challengers ($16) are required to consume a dozen of the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts and then finish the race by running two miles back- all in one hour.

Alternate levels of participation exist, such as the Slacker ($16), which requires participants to consume at least one Krispy Kreme doughnut, and the Cheerleader ($10), in which participants get a T-shirt and cheer on the competitors.

     Prizes:

Due to the generosity of Gold’s Gym and Women’s World, winners will receive the ultimate runner's prize:
     - A month of free membership to Gold's Gym will be given to the top two male challengers and top male slacker.
     - A month of free membership to Women's World will be given to the top two female challengers and top female slacker.
If recipients choose to remain members, they will be exempt from sign-on fees.

These prizes are valued at $90 - $130 each.
