How to Get Involved in the Student United Way

Help Build a Better Tomorrow by getting involved in the Student United Way.

Every branch of the Student United way has a committee which corresponds to it. Below are descriptions of those committees. If you are interested in a joining a committee, please email . The Student United Way always needs student leaders to help the organization progress.

Fundraising Committee:
The Fundraising Committee is responsible for all fundraising efforts that are centered here in our FSU community. They will organize their own fundraising campaign, a letter writing campaign, a campaign to targets businesses, and a grant proposal campaign among many other fundraising campaigns and events.

Marketing and Advertising Committee:
The Marketing and Advertising Committee solicits local, regional, and national businesses to sponsor Student United Way and Student United Way Events. The committee creates flyers and other promotional material for Student United Way as a whole and as well as for other committees.

Public Relations Committee:
Public Relations Committee responsible for promoting Student United Way to the campus, Tallahassee community, distribution and implementation of Student United Way press releases to media, keeping positive press towards the organization, and promoting ad’s.


Recruitment Committee:
The Recruitment Committee will be responsible for recruiting new organizations, members, faculty, and staff members to the organization.

The Special Events Committee:
The Special Events Committee plans and executes fundraising/ publicity events that the organization is involved with or put on, working closely with the Fundraising Committee in creating these events.

Public Service Committee:
The Public Service Committee will be in charge of the community investment portion or Student United Way. This committee will be putting on volunteer opportunities with agencies and creating volunteer opportunities. The committee will also deal with the Advocacy portion of Student United Way. To teach students to become politically activated, to teach them of social injustice issues and the promotion of equality of opportunity, and to teach students how to engage in fixing some of society's most persistent problems. To teach students the importance of volunteerism and the promotion of service to others. To make service to others an integral part of being a Seminole.
